CFDA+ 2017 design graduate ambassador
Jennifer Koh is a designer born in Hong Kong, with academic, and professional experience in New York, London, and Paris. She pursued her early education in Fashion Design in Hong Kong, and continued her studies at Parsons The New School for Design in New York from 2013. Upon completing an exchange program in Central Saint Martins, she relocated to Paris to complete her thesis graduate collection at Parsons Paris.
Sustainability is a part of her daily routine, it also plays a big role in her design process. In her recent collection, she focuses on developing zero-waste patterning using sustainable garment production. Aspiring to be an evening-wear designer, she interns at couture brands. After experiencing the waste of high-end silk fabrics in the atelier, she rethinks the conception of patterns for evening-wear, taking inspiration from easy-to-wear fast fashion archetypes to design minimalist pieces following the zero-waste idea that envisions a sustainable process and production.
Apart from garment and accessories design, Koh also specializes in photography, art direction, space planning, and graphic design.
